'People above all else'

Co-owners Philip Wright-Howarth and Philip Maundrill founded the company 15 years ago based on personal experience. Both have been responsible for a loved one in need of care and have seen first-hand the challenges and worries that this responsibility brings. This experience has also led them to understand what outstanding quality care should look like.

Most of all, we know the peace of mind this brings to family members, as well as the person being cared for. This has been a key driver throughout the business’ history and continues to underpin all aspects of the work we do and it is this that motivates them to have an absolute focus on ensuring our clients and their families receive the very highest quality care.

You can be reassured that our services are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and we are proud that our service in Coventry and Kenilworth has twice been rated Outstanding – an accolade only achieved by 5% of all care providers.

We have looked after over 2000 clients over the past 15 years years and we know that if we employ high quality people, who share our values and are caring, kind and compassionate, then support them with outstanding on-going training and office support, then they will deliver home care of the very highest quality.

Our co-owners are totally hands-on within the organisation, providing leadership and guidance to our team, much of which is based on our Continuous Improvement Programme (CIP) which requires every department to continually look to learn and improve on their experiences – we call it the 5% factor.

You can be assured that we operate to a rigorous set of policies and procedures to ensure that you or your loved one receives safe care and that we are fully compliant with all Public Health and government COVID-19 guidelines on infection control and our carers have access to all the required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Our services include:

An elderly woman and a middle-aged woman sit closely together on a sofa, smiling warmly at the camera. The elderly woman has white hair, glasses, and wears a patterned blue top with layered necklaces. The other woman has blonde hair and wears a white floral top, gently holding the elderly woman’s hand. A vase of orange flowers sits to the side, adding colour to the scene.

Julie’s Story

“My mums got all her things around her, she’s got more freedom and she’s got 1-1 with the Caregivers. She sleeps better, eats better, she’s more content and can go out when she likes.”

The onboarding was made particularly easy, and the selection of a small team of carers made the process both easy for ourselves and, more importantly, for mum. The team in Kenilworth are thorough, proactive and communication between the parties has been excellent. Thank you for helping mum get the most enjoyment from continuing to live independently (with a little help!) at home.

All four carers that have helped me with my husband, who has advanced Dementia, could not be kinder. One plays cards with him so patiently, one cleans windows beautifully, and two notice things that may not be on the list I leave and just do them. I would not be happy or able to continue with my hobby if I did not feel comfortable leaving my husband with all these lovely carers.

L P (Client)

The carers have been great with her (Mum), gently encouraging her to mobilise, listening to her wishes and keeping her safe whilst she is out (Mum would otherwise get lost)... they were lovely once again at gently encouraging Mum within her flat, despite the fact that this support was not always welcomed by Mum initially! As a family we have always felt supported by the admin team at USC.

Our carer was outstanding. She performed all of her tasks with enthusiasm, care and attention to detail. She also knew, without prompting, when to be with us and when to give us some privacy. This was our first experience of live-in care, and it couldn't have been better.

John R (Client)

My mum had become more and more reliant on me or friends to ensure she was safe, fed and her needs met. They came along after the local council's crisis team... my mum's mood was lifted when any of their team had visited. I will be forever grateful for the improvement they brought to my mum and the pressure they took off me.

Phil T (Son of Client)

Having been discharged from hospital my father was in need of additional care support... Unique Senior Care came to our rescue. I cannot thank the team enough for the outstanding care and support... The transition from hospital to home was a worrying time... but the carers quickly put our minds at ease with their kindness, professionalism and genuine compassion.
